Course goals
By the end of the course, students will have
1. basic knowledge of experimental research methods, their strengths, limitations, and applications in a developmental/socialization research context
2. basic knowledge of and experience with analyzing and reporting on experimental data
3. hands-on experience with designing and/or conducting experimental research involving child or adolescent participants
Relation between Tests and Learning Goals
Assignment 1 assesses aim 1 and 3 (see above). Assignment 2 assesses aims 1 and 2. Assignment 3 assesses aims 1 and 3.

Content
This course introduces students to experimental methods, and analysis of experimental data, in the context of developmental and socialization research. A general introduction into experimental methods is provided first. In subsequent lectures, students will be provided with illustrations of experimental work conducted in the faculty. In a brief internship, students practice their skills in designing and conducting experimental research and analyzing experimental data.Reviews0 reviews
