Course goals

The entire course will be taught in English. This also includes assignments and exams.

In this module students will participate in research groups and activities offered by the SHP researcher staff, and will learn how they are connected to the SHP master program. Subsequently, students will make the first steps to construct a draft research proposal that will be the starting point for their research training II (SHP9) and master thesis (SHP13). Apart from allowing students to explore and develop their research interests, research skills that will be developed during this module are deduction of research questions and hypotheses, operationalization, and academic writing.

Grading & Examination:
Performance during the engagement in the research groups will be graded based on the following sources of information:

Contribution to the research activities in the research groups
Research group reports
Research thesis proposal draft
