Course goals

The purpose of the tutoring system is to support the student with respect to their (a) commitment to their educational program, (b) development of and striving towards their goals, expectations, capacities en preferences regarding their education, (c) development of a professional attitude, (d) educational progress, (e) choices regarding their education, and (f) career perspectives.

Content

Once you complete your freshman year, all students in psychology are assigned to a new College and a new tutor.
This new Senior College takes a broadening and in-depth perspective towards both your study career and subject matter. This is the student-community you will belong to up to and including your third year, in order to collaborate on maintaining your motivation, exploring future opportunities, and preparing for the job market. Each College meets at least once per 10 weeks. The students co-create the program with their tutor (according to the goals of the tutoring system).
The tutor supervises the activities of the Senior College and follows the study progress of the individual students. The tutor helps the students of the College to feel at home in the program, to make informed choices, and to get the best out of themselves and others. The tutor invites each student at least once a year for an individual interview. In addition, students themselves may initiate appointments with their tutor also.
Each Senior College has its own Brightspace-page to facilitate communication amongst its tutor and students. In addition, students are informed through the general Brightspace environment of the tutoring system [“Tutoraat Verdiepend”] about topics that are relevant to everyone: information, events and other important matters.
