Academic Professional CSP

Course goals

• The ability to reflect on issues concerning academic integrity and professional ethics.  
• The ability to reflect on one’s own professional development.
• The development of professional skills in a realistic professional setting.
• To conduct an empirical study and policy advice project.
• The ability to reflect on professional dilemma’s, issues concerning professional pride and excellence in fields related to the tracks within the master program. 
• The ability to give policy recommendations that are sensitive to contextual dynamics or characteristics of the field in question.

Content

In the course academic professional students will acquire skills that will prepare them for the labour market. The course is centered around 2 main topics: professional conduct and ethics & academic integrity.
 
Professional and ethical conduct
Students will participate in a year long research project that will help them to reflect on professional ethics, their own professional skills, their ability to cooperate with others, and their ability to communicate in a professional manner. As part of the entire study Assignments include literature research, data collection, planning or coordination of the study, communicating results.

Ethics & academic Integrity  
As part of the course Academic Professional students will be allowed to attend an external seminar, conference, training or lecture of their own choosing related to “professionalism, professional ethics & dilemma’s, professional trends & developments in the field of their internship or (their own) professional development” in consultation with the course coordinator.
