Course goals

Content

Year 2 of the MS-programme includes an elective with 15 EC (credit points) = workload of two regular courses. Students can choose one out of five different tracks:

• European Master of Official Statistics (EMOS)
• Contemporary psychometrics
• Applied data science
• Drug development statistics
• Free track

For the first three tracks the student takes the course that has been specifically designed for that track. for the fourth track the student is advised to take courses from the two-year master program on Epidemiology at Utrecht University or other courses that are relevant for drug development. For the last track the student takes one or more courses and/or a traineeship. These courses are preferably from a research master program. Only in very specific cases courses can be taken from an academic master program or a bachelor program.
In the first year the coordinator listed above will discuss several options for the elective with the students, and also the possibility to go abroad will be discussed. Students can also suggest additional courses and together the coordinator and student will decide on suitability of his/her proposal for the MSBBSS programme.
