Clinical Skills Lab Child and Adolescent Psychology

Course goals

In the clinical skills lab the focus is on acquiring skills needed to work as a clinical child and adolescent psychologist. Skills related to psychological assessment and professional communication will be addressed and practiced in this course.

After attending this course you will have:

• Gained knowledge and understanding of several important clinical skills for a child and adolescent psychologist
• Experienced putting these clinical skills into practice
• Learned how to reflect on your professional skills and behaviour
• Practiced in providing and receiving peer feedback

Content

You will practice skills related to:

•         Intake conversations
•         Psychological assessment
•         Dealing with resistance
•         Recommendations
•         Reflection and feedback
 
This course is open to CCAP students who do a 15 EC internship. In this course, the focus is on practicing skills and learning at a self-directed and autonomous level, using role-plays, supervision and peer supervision
