Research Seminar 1: Theory and Hypotheses

Course goals

Next to the thesis supervisor, in this course, students are instructed in the design and writing of the theoretical part of their thesis: theories, models and hypotheses. Students train themselves to formulate constructive feedback on the proceedings from fellow-students and to explicate on how they work on feedback received.

Content

In this course, students present and review their progress of the theoretical introduction of their thesis, and comment on and review the work of fellow students.

Providing constructive peer feedback is an intrinsic and important part of the research seminar. It allows students to develop experiences and skills in the review process which is an important element of being a qualified researcher. Students reflect on how to incorporate feedback they receive.
