(FYI: the other options are options for Continuing Education (onderwijs voor professionals))


At the end of this course, you will:
  1. have insight in the translation from problem to research question;
  2. have insight in the translation from research question to study design;
  3. have insight in the application of different study designs in practice, including data collection and analysis;
  4. be able to present and discuss research proposals, including the relevance and societal impact;
  5. be able to write a research proposal.

Course description:
In this online course, which is specifically aimed at professionals, you will enhance your skills in writing a research proposal in English, both in terms of information elements and language. We will analyze the structure, vocabulary and grammatical structures of research proposals, including word order, articles, verb tenses, punctuation marks, modal verbs, hedging, referencing styles, and the use of transitional words and phrases. We will also address the concept of plagiarism and how to avoid it.
