Please be aware that you can only select a course option that shows the academic year and is offered Face-to-Face (F2F) or online (depending on your registration)
(FYI: the other options are options for Continuing Education (onderwijs voor professionals))
By the end of this course on Presenting Research, you will be able to:
- Structure a presentation correctly and know which information elements to include.
- Give an effective presentation in an academic setting.
- Design clear, interesting visuals.
- Ensure good rapport with the audience.
- Use your voice in such a way that the audience keeps listening.
- Handle the audience’s questions politely and appropriately.
- Understand your own strengths and overcome your weaknesses in presenting in English

Course description:
Research makes the biggest impact when it is communicated clearly to others, in both written and spoken form. In this course, we will learn techniques to help you convey your research confidently and effectively. You will learn techniques to improve your structure and delivery. You will practice applying your newfound skills by presenting your own research results. You will receive feedback from your peers and the teacher so that you can improve your presentation.
Please note: participants in this course are required to hand in assignments every week, deadlines will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
We strongly encourage you to have a rough draft of a presentation ready before the start of the course. Ideally, you will work on a presentation that you will have to give at some point in the future.
Literature/study material used:
All materials will be provided in the online learning environment. You will need to be able to record and upload videos during this course.
