Course goals
After successful completion of the course, students
- are capable of analyzing Anglophone literary texts
- have an understanding of the interconnections between these texts and their broader contexts
- are capable of reporting on their reading experience in written English, using appropriate literary terminology
- in their writing, showing their grasp of the historical perspective

This course has priority rules and a waiting list. Your enrolment is guaranteed if you are:
- a student in the BA English Language and Culture
- a student TCS enrolled in the hoofdrichting Moderne Talen: Engels.
- an exchange student and meet the course’s entry requirements
In all other situations, you will be placed on a waiting list if you enrol in this course. For any remaining slots in the course, lots are drawn among the students on the waiting list.

The Making of Modernity (EN3V23003)
If you have already completed this course, you may not take The Making of Modernity due to too much overlap in content.
