Content
This course uses students’ reading of literatures in English(es) to teach the writing and editing of literary fiction and non-fiction in prose and poetry. Students will also have the option of practicing (and submitting assignments on) literary translation into English. Students critically evaluate both their own and their peers’ texts and will be asked to engage in analysis of their writing within the context of contemporary publishing practices and debates, and in relation to established literary works. A process writing approach is taken within workshop groups, stressing intensive peer feedback, rewriting and editing.
