Product Evaluation and Advice Internship

Course goals

At the end of the course the student can:
-  in an efficient manner collaborate while working on an educational and or didactical challenge;
-  evaluate a concrete product using scientific methodes of his/her own choice, taking into account the wishes and needs of users;
-  share results with peers and client in an efficient manner

Content

During the course, which is organised around an internship, an existing science communication product is evaluated and possibly redesigned. You will be detached at an science communication and or education organisation. Furthermore, (some) educational sessions at the university wil be held, with the main focus on helping with fullfilling of the assignment. At the organisation you are expected to act proactively take up tasks that will enable you to resolve te assignment. For this you wil have to search, choose and use methodes of scientific evaluation. You will be guided by the client for the day to day assistance.

Less frequently you will meet with a university supervisor to share and discuss the progress. Your results have tot be shared with peers and the client in a comprehensive manner. At the end of the course you will have to deliver a research- or evidence-based) report, this may also take the form of a advisory report. In addition, you will have to reflect on your own professional development by means of learning aims which you have set up for yourself at the start of the internship. International students, please note that it may not always be possible to organize a product development task with an organization other than Utrecht University.
