Environmental Communication and Behaviour

The objective of this course is to gain an understanding of different types of environmental behaviour, to gain insights into the drivers of this behaviour and how to stimulate behaviour change. Students learn how to apply these insights to sustainability challenges by analysing and evaluating existing campaigns in the field of sustainability and designing a campaign of their own based on the acquired insights.

Specifically, after this course you:
1. have an understanding of the socio-psychological aspects of environmental problems in relation to human behaviour;
2. know what type of influence strategies may be successful for different environmental behaviours;
3. can critically evaluate and develop environmental communication strategies to bring about (environmental) behavioural change.
