Course goals
Please note: the information in the course manual is binding.
In addition to the objectives of the regular Bachelor’s thesis NWI (see for moreinformation: GEO3-2275), honours students are after completion of the course able to:
- Process the thesis into a popular scientific article that is tailored to the readership, layout requirements and current discussions of a selected popular scientific (online) journal.
Content
In addition to the regular Bachelor’s thesis, honours students also write a popular scientific article based on their thesis research. Besides this additional output, i.e. besides the regular Bachelor's thesis, the honours thesis does not entail additional adjustments.
Format
The Honours thesis is set up in an identical manner to that of the Bachelor’s thesis. If possible, honours students are placed together in intervision groups; however, it will not be possible to create intervision groups exclusively composed of honours students.
Assessment
Assessment is identical to the regular Bachelor’s thesis (research proposal, final product, poster, poster presentation and peer review). The honours component, i.e. the popular scientific article, is assessed separately and needs to be sufficient. Grading is pass/fail.
