Consultancy Project Aruba Global Sustainability Science

After completion of this course, students are able to

• Apply the theories and methods that were introduced during their bachelor's courses to solve a transdisciplinary challenge
• Produce and justify actionable solutions to communicate to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner through various media such as reports, presentations, posters, or interactive online media.
• Communicate appropriately and effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
• Demonstrate project management and team collaboration to achieve a project goal.
• Identify the transferrable skills of working with a client and how to conduct themselves with integrity and in a professional manner.
• Identify the competencies they have and those they still need to develop to contribute to a more sustainable world.
• Practice intercultural and cross-cultural communication and understanding. 
• Examine how their skillset can be applied to contribute to a sustainability transition.

The Consultancy project Aruba provides applied training for doing research for and providing expert advice to a client. In this interdisciplinary group project, students will apply the knowledge and skills acquired in courses taken throughout the Global Sustainability Science major, to a sustainability challenge commissioned by a societal stakeholder in Aruba. This course can be taken in place of GEO3-2423 Consultancy Project. Students must apply to by September 30th. 
 
The Consultancy Project Aruba is part of the Field Research Project Aruba. It can only be followed in combination with the courses UCACCMET2L (Community-engaged research in the Caribbean, in period 2 at UCU) and SISSTEM (Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to sustainable development, in period 3 at the University of Aruba), after acceptance to the Field Research Project Aruba.
