Fieldwork Research Project MA Conflict Studies and Human Rights

Course goals

After successful completion of this course you have acquired a comprehensive understanding and practical ability to select, apply, assess and, if needed, creatively adapt data gathering methodologies and techniques in the field of CS&HR. You have also gained a practical understanding of how established techniques of research and enquiry are used to create and interpret knowledge in the discipline. 

Content

In the space of this course you select, apply, assess and, if needed, creatively adapt data gathering methodologies and techniques in the furtherance of your individual research project, either through fieldwork (including interviews, and participatory observation), or desk research in which primary sources are used (such as 'online interviews', newspaper articles, policy documents, OSINT). 

Students that choose for the fieldwork track will use the data that they have collected in their MA thesis (term 4).
