Course goals

To acquire insight into the organization and the activities of the internship institution (museum; research, art, heritage institution... ).
To actively participate in the institution’s organization, its projects and other institutional activities.
To acquire research skills in the context of relevant project(s) assigned by the museum or art institution.
To acquire additional analytical and heuristic skills related to the project(s) assigned.

Content

The internship (or placement) in this RMA is intended as a working experience in a museum, art historical, curatorial or other art and heritage institution or organisation. The internship should have a strong research focus.

As an alternative, RMA  Art History students can take research seminars or tutorials at an advanced level at another university abroad (study abroad). The alternative has to be approved by the program coordinator.

Course registration
The HUM Internship Office will register you for the Internship course. Before they can do that, you need to take a number of steps yourself. You can find these steps on the internship page of your programme. The fixed registration periods for regular courses do not apply to internships. On the internship page you can find when you should have registered.
