Course goals

• Acquiring knowledge and learning how to formulate a research question and motivation.
• Learning how to design a research strategy to answer this question.
• Developing judgement and critical insights into ideas, theories, opinions, methods... related to the subject of your choice
• Further practicing your academic writing and presentational skills. Developing strong communication skills by means of discussion, presentation, exchange... with experts, peers...
• Learning about publishing in academic journals and about academic journal publishing cultures

Content

The general goal of this course is to prepare students for their thesis research in year 2. Focus: on learning to publish in an academic journal; choosing an academic journal in relation to the students research interest.
