Content

Objectives and content
During this course, the most important neurological illnesses are addressed.
The following aspects are discussed: clinical signs and symptoms, diagnostics, pathogenesis, etiology, epidemiology, disease progression and prognosis, and treatment.  The student must be able to correctly analyze and approach health problems, by either recommending treatment or by further referral. More goals established for course Nervous System can be found in the course handbook.

Work formats and weekly schedule

A strong emphasis is placed on self-study (ICT) based on the “Flipping the Classroom” model.
Every illness or group of illnesses will be addressed during an interactive lecture, with the aid of a patient diagnosed with the illness when possible. A work session on the discussed material will come the day after, or a few days after the lecture.  The students receive laboratory sessions on pathology, neuro-radiology, electromyography, and electro-encephalography. Two meet-the-expert sessions are scheduled for a question-and-answer meeting.
