Medical Clerkship Internal Medicine

Objectives and Content 
Medical Clerkship Internal Medicine builds upon the material of year 1 and 2.

Goals and expectations of the students include:
- supervised and increasingly independent involvement in the of assessment and management of
   important problems seen in Internal Medicine
- familiarization with the treatment options within internal medicine subspecialties
- gaining experience in the triage process
- involvement in the management of patients requiring prompt medical attention in the
  Emergency Department
- partaking in correspondence with the referring physician and medical history taking

The Clerkship Internal Medicine takes place in year 3.

• A number of relevant textbooks are referred to in the general textbook list.
• “Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine,” is recommended literature.
