Medical Clerkship Neurology  
Objectives and Content 

Medical Clerkship Neurology builds upon the material of year 1 and 2.

Goals and expectations of the students include:
- supervised and increasingly independent involvement in the of assessment and management of patients within neurology. 
- gain knowledge of the specific neurological physical examination, including imaging of the nervous system.
- assisting in the treatment of patients requiring acute attention in the Emergency Department
- partaking in correspondence with the referring physician and medical history taking

Course format and weekly schedule
Medical Clerkship Neurology takes three weeks.

Place within the curriculum  
Medical Clerkship Neurology Medicine takes place in year 3.

Literature
The clerkship is based on the following sources:
- Required literature listed in the general textbook list.
- Recommended: Aids to the examination of the peripheral nervous system, 4th ed. 2000.
- Kandel : Principals of neuroscience
