The Anatomy Course has a Regular and a Technical Version

Anatomy

Objectives and Content
The focus of this course is on the macroscopic three-dimensional architecture of the human body.
The course allows students to gain knowledge of and insight into systemic and regional human anatomy, as needed for safe and effective medical practice. Therefore the learning line Surgery is also represented in this course.
Besides the core content, the material is augmented by discussions related to recent medical developments. The focus of the medical developments differs between the two versions of the course:

• Biomedical (according to the regular version of the course)
• Technical (according to the technical version of the course)

Course format and weekly schedule
The utilized work formats consist of (ICT) self-study, interactive lectures and laboratory sessions using human cadavers. Additionally, in-depth lectures corresponding to the biomedical and technical tracts augment the course content. The classroom teaching is organized according to the ‘Flipping the Classroom’  example built on ICT self-study. 
Radiology education continues parallel to the anatomy course. The material covered during the radiology course corresponds to the material covered in the anatomy course where possible.  

Place within the curriculum
Anatomy takes place in weeks 6 to 9 of year 1.

Assessment
A digital test takes place twice a year (one regular test and a repeat).
