Content
Course content
During an MBI colloquium, four MBI students discuss their research in parallel groups (approximately 30 minutes). They do this twice consecutively in different subgroups. There is also a plenary discussion in which an ICS staff member shares practical research experiences.
The idea behind the MBI student presentations is to have them discuss an issue they encounter during their research. Instead of giving a 30-minute presentation, they provide a 10-minute introduction and then initiate a discussion about their research. For example, are my research questions sound? How do I conduct a good case study? How do I validate my collected data? Etc.
The MBI colloquium takes place every two to three weeks on Monday mornings.
Instructional modes
Parallel discussions about research topics, and hosting a research discussion.
