Course goals
Objectives of the course are:
- to get acquainted with the MBIM program
- to get acquainted with the MBIM graduation procedure
- to become aware of academic (fraud) rules and regulations
- to create a personal study plan
- to integrate students from different previous programs and from their current university programs
The course has no formal exam.
Completion of the course depends on:
- submission of a study plan, and subsequent approval.
- participation in activities.
To qualify for a repair test, a first version of the study plan should have been submitted.
Content
The objective of the course is to guide students through the complete MBIM program, resulting in the creation of an personal MBI study plan.
In four weeks time you will encounter the various types of courses, mandatory, primary elective and secondary electives, from which to compose your curriculum as well as some coherent sets of courses.
Boundary conditions will be discussed as well, as are formal constraints (the Education & Exam Regulations).
The course pays some attention to scientific integrity, including fraud and plagiarism.
Near the end the course looks ahead towards the MBIM graduation, especially your thesis (project).
Throughout the course social interaction, such as integration of students from Utrecht University, other Dutch universities, including those of Applied Sciences, and international students will be encouraged.
