Content
In the context of rising fundamentalism, racism, sexism, homophobia, marginalization and polarization, this MA course aims to provide a space for critical engagement with postcolonial, anti-colonial and decolonial theoretical debates which address global justice and collective liberation. The course will illustrate and analyze the “postcolonial condition” we live in, through the close reading of texts and images, contextualized through global and local political debates. It will, in particular, address the ‘transitions’ of postcolonial theory with decolonial approaches with close reflection on debates within both fields. Themes that will be addressed during the course include, subjectivity and representation, gender and sexuality, climate justice and ecology, black studies and abolition studies.
