Internship MA Contemporary Theatre, Dance and Dramaturgy

Course goals

• The aim of the internship is to gain practical work experience and/or gain profound knowledge of a subset of the professional field and to develop reflection on professional practice. 
• The internship report (work field evaluation component) should demonstrate that the student is able to develop reflection on professional practice and on personal learning goals.
• The internship report (research component) should demonstrate that the student is able to research a specific topic within the context of the professional field, and to communicate insights to a wider audience, consisting of both academics as well as arts professionals.

Content

The internship allows the student to gain hands-on experience in a practice of his/her choice, either within the field of theatre and dance (dramaturgy, education, programming, publicity, policy, criticism), or in research about theatre and dance. An MA Internship consists of both a practical and an academically oriented component in which the student employs research and/or reflexive skills. Ideally, this research benefits both the internship organisation and the MA Thesis. During their internship, students participate in practical and/or research activities and develop reflection about them, supervised by both a staff member of the internship organisation and the student's supervisor.
 
This course should be followed in block 4.

The HUM Internship Office will register you for the Internship course. Before they can do that, you need to take a number of steps yourself. You can find these steps on the internship page of your programme. The fixed registration periods for regular courses do not apply to internships.
