• identify and apply key concepts and methods in textual analysis; 
• develop an understanding of core concepts in media theory;
• develop a textual analysis in academic writing;
• presentation skills

Content

This core course of the MA program “Film and Television Cultures” focuses on the close analysis of film and television texts via a selection of leading theoretical frameworks.
Students are given an overview of important theories and key scholars in theoretical analysis, both classic/canonic texts and recent literature. The course aims to strengthen advanced skills in conducting a theory-driven textual analysis.
