Course goals

Content

This course is designed to introduce RMA students to the state of the arts in contemporary feminist and gender studies research undertaken by our own professors from the Graduate Gender Programme at Utrecht University.  The legacies of these debates will be traced to explore how political, cultural, and theoretical connections and contestations inform research strands in gender studies scholarship. The course aims to offer students a wide range of theoretical tools that will allow for contextualization and positioning of research topics in Gender Studies from interdisciplinary perspectives, including postcolonial studies, queer and trans studies, critical race studies, critical security studies, settler colonial studies, and feminist historiography.

Additional information

This course is for students in the RMA Gender Studies and GEMMA. The entrance requirements for Exchange Students will be checked by the International Office and the Programme coordinator. You do not have to contact the Programme coordinator in advance.
