Course goals

The student learns to reflect on his/her own goals and expectations, qualities, talents, competences and preferences in relation to the aim of the programme, professional behaviour, the rules and regulations and expectations regarding study progress, the possibilities on the labour market.

Content

In the first year students are guided in the course Basic Tutorate (Tutoring Basis?). This is a compulsory part of the bachelor's programme and every student is assigned an instructor at the beginning of the first year. The instructor is the students first point of contact and supervisor. During the first year group meetings and individual discussions are provided.

The instructor helps the student to get the most out of his/her study and informs him/her about electives and rules and regulations. 
The student is expected to actively participate in meetings and discussions, to prepare all assignments and to keep the instructor informed of circumstances that could hinder or speed up your studies. The instructor can refer you to the study advisor in case (personal) circumstances cause study delay.

In addition to the instructor and study advisor, student mentors are also involved in the supervision. They have more informal contact with the student (e.g. via social media) and serve as an experienced expert in the field.

​At the end of the year, this course is signed off as completed if the student has properly completed the assignments, attended the meetings and discussions and has achieved a positive BSA. In year 2 there is a subsequent course module (advanced tutorate) and sometimes also a new instructor.
