knowledge of transport properties of metals, semiconductors and superconductors
Drude and Boltzmann Transport Theory
basics of magnets (Pauli magnetism, mean field theory)
Meissner Effect and London theory
basic knowledge about topological insulators
 

Content

In this course, we introduce the phenomenology of condensed matter systems with a focus on the quantum properties. This includes a discussion of crystal structures and their elastic and thermodynamic properties, metals, semiconductors, magnets, superconductors, and more exotic electronic states.
