Academic Skills Linguistics (English)

Course goals

On successful completion of this blended course, students will:

1. be familiar with the main research methods used in Linguistics
2. have learned how to formulate a research question
3. have learned how to design a research project that will allow them to address the research question
4. have learned how to collect and analyse linguistic data
5. have learned how to write a research proposal for a BA/pre-master thesis

Content

This blended course gives students an overview of the main research methods used in English Linguistics. It also teaches students how to formulate research questions and shows them how to operationalize them, designing a research project. During this course students learn how to collect and analyse linguistics data. The course provides also training in writing a research proposal.
