Course goals
After this course:- The students have knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of constitutional law and administrative law in a European and international context;
- The students have knowledge and understanding of the implications of the internationalisation and Europeanisation of constitutional and administrative law;
- The students are able to conduct research on different topics of constitutional and administrative law in a European and international context;
- The students are able to write a paper and present the outcome of the research on the different topics demonstrating an awareness to academic integrity in both the process and outcome;
- The students are able to discuss literature and case law in a clear way;
- The students understand ethics and academic integrity issues for researchers and can apply their knowledge when conducting legal research throughout all phrases of the research and writing process.
Content
The theme of this three-part course is the dynamics of law in a European and international context. The central theme is the legal intertwining of the national, European and international legal orders.
The first part of the course (Dynamics 1) is devoted to European Constitutional law and European Administrative law. The first half of this course provides introduction to both themes, and the second half is more research oriented and focuses on the implication of especially Europeanization for constitutional and administrative law.
