Team Language Science Project

Course goals

The course aims to give the student hands-on experience working with team science, by sequentially going through all the relevant aspects of an actual research project. Students completing this module will have learned to apply methodological and theoretical knowledge to very particular situations and to make research-relevant decisions on the basis of group discussions. They also learn general skills like planning, time management, feasibility estimation and progress monitoring. 
 

Content

Students collaborate as a team to complete a pre-defined research project under supervision of an ILS researcher. This project allows them hands-on experience with many aspects of actual language science. As a team, they produce research results that are directly valuable to some part of the linguistic community.
 

Additional information

The research conducted in this module changes yearly, as does the project leader supervising the research and directing the team.
