Practicum Comparative Literary Studies

Course goals

In this individual component, students

• gain insight into the practical dimensions of academic and educational work within their field of study
• acquire hands-on experience with concrete academic and pedagogical practices through supervised participation in teaching- and research-related activities within the university
• develop practical skills relating to academic research and education

Content

Under the supervision of a lecturer/researcher, students undertake a clearly defined practical assignment focused on academic or educational practice. Depending on the nature of the practicum, this may involve:

• participating actively in an ongoing research project, while carrying out independent research tasks

or:

• analysing and supporting a particular teaching or educational practice, informed by relevant educational literature, and assisting in the preparation and execution of concrete teaching activities

The specific details of the assignment are determined at the outset, in consultation with the supervisor, and are tailored to the student’s interests and the specific academic or educational context.
